Toshiba Satellite A300 wont boot

I have recently been given a laptop to look at from a family friend. The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite A300 and it is just out of warranty.

The problem with it is that it will not load or boot up, tries to boot into windows gets to the post screen and then shuts down. I have tried a different power supply and still the same issue.

Turns out that upon opening the laptop to look at the motherboard, it appears that due to bad design from Toshiba - one of the IC on the motherboard has burnt itself out and here are the results.

Here is the culprit - I dont know what part number this is or where to get it. However I have to relay the bad news to the owner.

A replacement motherboard is going around $300+ delivered to Australia and even more to get Toshiba to repair.

However you can get a replacement board for around $100 AUD if you happen to be going to China and have a friend that has a TaoBao.com account ( China's Ebay ). So this is the option were going to take as they have that option available.
